CAID had its origins in the mists of time [or the time of Mists] as the Four
Southern Baronies of the Kingdom of the West: Calafia, Angels, Isles and
Dreiburgen. On a day of days, the folk of the Southern Baronies did meet and compact to work together as a Principality, with the informed approval of the Occidental monarchy. On a day of days, the folk of the Principality of Caid did rise up against King Paul of the West and war for their independence as a kingdom; this was called the Tourney of Union, and the forces of Caid were small but doughty, and King Paul granted them their Independence for their honour and bravery. On a day of days, King Gregory and Queen Bevin of the West crowned King Armand and Queen Diana as the first King and Queen of Caid. Whereupon, the new Monarchs of Caid granted their progenitors permission to dwell within Caid's borders, Gregory and Bevin being until that moment residents of the larger Western realm. The symbol of that act was called the Green Card and remains a unique honour of that day. Caid has grown and prospered in the years since that time, and encompasses the worldly lands of Southern California, Southern Nevada, Hawaii and New Zealand. Thus our kingdom encompasses very nearly ALL of the World's Finest Beaches, as well as some of the highest mountains, deepest vales, clearest waters, hottest deserts and most fruitful farmlands. Verily a land of diversity. --Lady Selene Colfox |
